AUF 2025 Research | Call for Proposals Extended to June 21

Addressing Today’s Academic Challenges

The American University of Florence is extending the deadline for its 2025 research initiative, allowing more time for scholars to submit innovative proposals that address today’s most urgent academic and societal challenges. Proposals will now be accepted until June 21, 2025.

The 2025 research initiative maintains a focused effort to address some of today’s most pressing academic challenges. We invite researchers from Italy and around the world to submit proposals that tackle real-world issues in education and society.

This year’s call centers on three key areas. First, we are looking for projects that examine mental well-being in our increasingly digital, post-pandemic world. Second, we seek research on the effective integration of artificial intelligence in academia, urging the exploration of how AI can enhance learning while preserving essential critical and creative skills. Third, we welcome studies on the impact of global geopolitical shifts on student mobility and the broader academic community.

Eligible candidates include individual researchers, Ph.D. candidates, Ph.D. holders, and experienced professionals. Successful proposals will receive funding for research activities over a twelve-month period, supported by our campus community.

Applicants should prepare a clear proposal in English that outlines the research objectives, methods, and expected impact. Supporting documents, such as a CV and publication list, must accompany the submission.

To be considered, please note that the new deadline to apply is June 21, 2025. For further information and instructions on how to apply, follow the link below to read the official 2025 Call For Proposals.
