AUF offers a unique 3 or 6-week summer opportunity for high school students to participate in its cultural and academic offering. Students may select from a diverse range of courses and participate in field trips and supervised afternoon activities such as sports and discovering the city of Florence. Selected courses prepare students for college entrance and credits transfer.

Program Options

3-week program: Coursework and activities in Florence.

6-week program: Advanced coursework (pre-reqs required) with a focus on STEM and business, an Experiential Learning placement, and activities in Florence.

Pre-program week option: The above programs can commence with a field learning week of Cultural Introduction to Italy that begins in Rome. Students then continue the 3 or 6w program in Florence.

Credit Load

3-week program: two courses (6 credits)

6-week program: 3 courses including one experiential learning placement (9 credits)

Pre-program week option: if adding the field learning week prior to the above programs, 3 additional credits are earned.

• Live-in Resident Assistant for counseling and assistance.

Counseling Service

AUF will provide Summer High School students with counseling service through a live-in Resident Assistant. On rotation, Counselors will be on call 24/7 for health and safety emergencies, but also for advising and general assistance.
