Fall 2025 Annual Academic Conference Proceedings Now Available
The Renaissance of Material Media: In Film, Photography, and Beyond
The American University of Florence & Stony Brook University are proud to announce the publication of the official proceedings from the XIV Annual Academic Conference, “The Renaissance of Material Media: In Photography, Film, And Beyond”
Held in Florence on December 5, 2025, the conference brought together academics from around the globe. Through interdisciplinary panels, keynote speeches, and student presentations, participants presented on a variety of topics, ranging from multimodal literature and film, to photography and music.
Ultimately, many scholars, students and coordinators collaborated to host a successful conference, along with the opportunity to present pioneering research related to the resurgence of analog media. The annual academic conference continues to serve as a place to bridge connections across countries and contribute breakthrough research to emerging fields.
